VILLA GARDEN - FRANKFURT
The garden at this villa in Italian architecture is located in the green and hilly outskirts of Frankfurt.
The owners of the garden intended to realize a large underground garage in their backyard, with a new garden to be built on the roof of the parking garage.
The garden is designed in such a way that the view of the mountainous landscape is optimally experienced without compromising on the desired privacy and the height difference being optimally used.
In addition, the design has a strong axial classical structure that arises from the architecture of the house. In terms of visibility and experience, this axis is also continued towards the surrounding mountain landscape.
In the middle of the central axis is a staircase that is intersected by a long narrow pond consisting of two pond basins at different levels. The staircase leads to the lower part of the garden, which has a more organic design feel than the purely formal layout of the garden directly around the house.
A second axis connects a number of garden rooms on the south side of the garden. These garden rooms are spread over several levels, connected by stairs and surrounded by garden walls that have a joint effect.
